WOR Tech Designs has a few modules to enhance your DotNetNuke WebSite. Two of these modules are being released to the public for beta testing today Thursday May 25, 2006. Register for free and download the betas for free. The first module is WT Daily Events module: It was designed for restaurants and food service industries to display their daily specials such as lunch, dinner or drink specials. I have changed the module to allow it to be customized for anyone that wants to display a daily event, special or anything. You can modify the display of any information thru the settings page. It also injects a link for the RSS Feed into the pages header for RSS Feed auto-discovery. You can either enter a list of email addresses and or assign a role for a send mail feature that sends an email display your information for that day via a button. You can customize the email letter being sent via settings page. The module utilizes the Search, Import and Export features of the DotnetNuke Framework. Currently the Module works fully in DotNetNuke 3.2.2 and partially in DotNetNuke 4.x. The email Daily Events Button throws an error in DNN 4.x All other features appears to work in DNN 4.x. The Module is in production use at  The Timeless Destination Daily Specials   The way the Module works is there are five fields for each item or event or special. Using the settings tab a site admin can set the header and footer of the Display, the Field labels, User role to send emails to, email address list, Email Header, Email Footer, Email sender, Email Subject. Admin and module editors can add or edit Items , specials , events , default fields are designed for displaying the type of event or special, day of event or special, title of event or special, description of event or special and the date to be displayed. The module only displays items for the current date to non admin non editor roles (non registered users, non editor roles etc). So if you have a daily event or special that you would like to display dynamically in your DotNetNuke website and allow easy update of information to display please register and download WT Daily Events module here.

Some facts about WTD Users Online Ajax DNN Module:

  1. To install the module; Just install the module like any other module. Via the Host > Module Definitions > Install New Module  menu. The zip file is all ready for install. So just download it to your pc and then upload it to your DNN portal in the usual manner. The issue of using Anthem.net dll has been fixed and will no longer conflict or break other modules using Anthem.net updated release coming soon. April 2, 2007
  2. For WTD Users Online Ajax DNN Module to show accurate statistics and information: I suggest that you change a few settings for your Portal. First the Users Online Time should be shortened the default is 20 minutes I prefer a setting of between 5 and 10 minutes as this is far more accurate. I also change the purge users online in the schedule to at least 2 minutes instead of 1 minute but that is a personnel choice and is actually less accurate but the performance increase is worth the change. I also set the scheduler method to timer as if set to request method it means that the scheduled items are never run at the correct interval unless you have a very high traffic site. Also a setting to request method appears to slow performance of the portal some times quite a bit.
