Email Marketing - Connecting With your Subscribers
Lisa Rae Preston
Just having a list of subscribers in a lucrative niche doesn't mean you're making money! It's a great start, but there's more to email marketing than just uploading a few messages in the old autoresponder.
You have to connect with the subscriber's mind by making him feel that you're just a regular person like he is, and that you understand his frustrations and are really anxious to serve him. You want the best for him.
You don't need to be a born salesman to do this. Everyone can treat a customer kindly and with a cheerful, helpful manner.
You want to leave a pleasant taste in the subscriber's mouth, pleasant pictures in his memory of the way you treated him, so that he'll be certain to open your emails in the future.
Here's the really good news -everyone can cultivate this kind of salesmanship!
You want to make your customers feel special when they shop with you, right?
So your email messages must be kind, courteous, and timely. You also need to offer something a little extra -- that generosity will go a long way in creating trust and a sense of quality in your merchandise.
Just think about it for a minute -- how do you like to be treated when you shop some place? What would really impress you? Wow you beyond words?
What expectations do you bring to each transaction? What are the little things that would make you want to visit a website to shop again?
Answering these questions will help you figure out how to attract and keep customers coming back to you.
In Delivering Knock Your Socks Off Service, researchers state that, " . . . as many as one customer in four is dissatisfied enough to start doing business with someone else . . . "
Just imagine! Hundreds of thousands of potential customers are out there, ready to give their money to a business that offers more outstanding service. That's going to be your business!!
When it's a delight to read your emails, folks open them again and again.
One of the secrets is to reward your customers with a perk they didn't expect. Then they'll come back.
Many entrepreneurs offer an e-book as a bonus. That's nice. Definitely easy to automate. Very common, though. It won't make you stand out in the crowd.
A card in the mail thanking a customer for their business goes a step further. So does a phone call.
What if you sent a video of you personally thanking your customer? Now that would be above and beyond! The customer would see you as a real person -- not just "somebody.com".
Go the extra mile for your customers, and you'll win them for life. No amount of money can buy that kind of list
